be in top condition and the onus is on the renter to
make sure they are clean, tidy and un-abused at the
end of the rental period. This is why you will often
be asked to pay a deposit and would be strongly advised
to pay any waivers or protection at the time of renting
to cover the event of a knock, scrape or accident.
The days of taking a hire car back to the depot with
an empty tank of petrol and burning tyres are long
gone.
One aspect of car hire that is often overlooked, is
that it can be the excuse to drive the car or your
dreams or sample a car that you might consider buying,
without the high pressure sales patter of a test drive
with the car salesman in tow.
